Osbourne discussed the movie project currently in development. She also addressed the return of the festival and touched on a band that was removed from another project.

“[We are] going out looking for directors as we speak,” Sharon said. “[There are] two actors I have in mind [to play Ozzy]. With somebody like Ozzy, not to do a movie on his life would be ridiculous. There are very few artists who have had a career like him, and what he came from to become world-renowned is just a great story… perfect for a movie.”

On the Ozzfest revival, Sharon confirmed that U.K. and U.S. dates have been planned for 2027 and more details will be released soon.

Regarding a band that was disinvited from another Osbourne project after demanding payment, she kept their identity under wraps for the moment. “I have enough sh-t on my plate right now to release that,” Osbourne said.

These announcements reveal the scope of upcoming projects for the Osbourne organisation. The band’s identity and reasons for their removal from the project remain to be disclosed.

The biopic project has been in development since 2021, with Oscar nominee Lee Hall attached to write the script. Hall previously wrote the script for Elton John’s Rocketman. Sharon said the project went through multiple drafts with a previous writer before finding one who captured Ozzy’s voice. The film will focus on the relationship between Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and is expected to be released around 2028, with Sharon, Jack and Aimee Osbourne producing it.

Ozzfest was founded by Sharon Osbourne after Lollapalooza turned down Ozzy Osbourne for a spot on their lineup. The festival was last held in 2018 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Sharon is envisioning turning Ozzfest into an even bigger production with plans to take the venture out on the road as a touring festival. The 2027 return will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, the location where Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne held their farewell shows in 2025, which had a capacity of approximately 42,000.

The band removal story is connected to the Back to the Beginning concert, which took place on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park in Birmingham. The show was organized as a charity fundraiser, benefiting Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice. A band was disinvited after requesting payment while everyone else performed for free. Sharon has not yet revealed which band was removed from the concert.
