Hollywood Vampires’ Johnny Depp Wins A Motion Against Amber Heard About The Status Of Her Settlement Money

According to Depp’s lawyer Benjamin Chew who spoke to USA Today, Hollywood Vampires guitarist and worldwide known actor, Johnny Depp, won the legal battle against his ex-wife Amber Heard after he filed a motion to make Heard reveal what she had done with the settlement money.

As you may know, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard tied the knot in February 2015 but their happiness didn’t last long and Heard filed a divorce one year later. The couple’s divorce turned into a legal battle when Heard accused Depp of being an addict to drugs or alcohol, physical and verbal abuse. These allegations seriously damaged Depp’s acting career and he was labeled as a ‘wife-beater.’

Depp denied these accusations by claiming that Amber Heard was a gold digger and the main reason behind her false allegations was granting the financial resolution. Later, Depp and Heard reached a settlement when Depp agreed to pay her $7 million. Also, Heard declared that she would donate the whole settlement money to charity organizations. However, Depp’s legal team filed a motion by claiming that Heard didn’t use the money for donation.

Heard’s attorneys answered the accusations saying that she will donate the money in ten years and she has already donated $950,000 to the ACLU and $850,000 to the Children’s Hospital. Depp’s first demand for proof of donation was denied by the jury but his legal team didn’t give up and filed another motion. A New York judge decided that Amber Heard must prove her donations because it can affect the ongoing legal battle over abuse between two sides.

In Depp’s attorney’s words, he said:

“Mr. Depp is most gratified by the Court’s decision.”

Therefore, as it can be understood from the statement of Benjamin Chew and the decision of the judge, Amber Heard will have to prove whether she donated the money as she pledged or not. Also, Depp was very happy about this decision because he thought that he could finally get rid of the false accusations of Heard which almost destroyed his whole acting career.
