A Guns N’ Roses fan shared a video of Slash being denied VIP entry at the premiere of Lucky in Los Angeles. The clip quickly went viral. An unwitting security guard stopped the iconic guitarist from entering the VIP area, sparking a wave of reactions online.

The video captured both the moment itself and the contrasting responses of those around Slash. The rocker remained notably calm while a bystander reacted with visible disbelief. The fan who originally shared the video described the scene in the caption: “Slash getting denied access to the VIP entrance at the Lucky premiere yesterday in Hollywood and this woman freaking out about it is the funniest video you’ll see today.”

Fellow Guns N’ Roses fans were quick to weigh in on the incident. One fan expressed disbelief at the mix-up: “The fact that slash got denied to get into a place is something that shocks me because how the fuck does someone not recognize THE SLASH??? I love that Slash is acting all chill about it, that women needs to calm down though she is doing too way too much.”

Another fan took a more forgiving view of the situation: “Honest mistake. Slash took it like a champ.”

What made the moment striking was the sharp contrast between Slash’s laid-back demeanor and the outrage of those around him. An off-camera woman could be heard shouting, “Are you f**king serious? It’s Slash. It’s f**king Slash,” before later confronting the guard directly: “Do you know who you just did that to? That was Slash from Guns N’ Roses!” Slash didn’t appear offended in the slightest. He simply laughed, walked around, and was eventually redirected to the correct red carpet area.

The premiere was for Lucky, a new Apple TV+ miniseries starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role. The show is based on Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel. It follows a con artist who wakes up in a hotel room to discover she has been betrayed by a close ally and is forced on the run. Taylor-Joy’s character is pursued by the FBI after allegedly pilfering $10 million. Critics have responded warmly to the show, with early reviews praising Taylor-Joy’s performance as sharp, cool, and commanding throughout.

Slash’s appearance at the premiere underscores his continued presence in Hollywood’s cultural orbit, even as the security mix-up briefly — and comically — suggested otherwise. It was, by all accounts, a very rock and roll moment: one of the most recognizable guitarists on the planet, standing calmly at a velvet rope, waiting to be let in.
