Green Day Announces That Their Hella Mega Tour With Fall Out Boy Is Postponed Until 2022

Green Day shared the bad news with the fans in Europe and the U.K. from the band’s official Instagram account. The band postponed Hella Mega Tour including Fall Out Boy and Weezer to 2022 due to COVID-19’s ongoing threatening presence mostly in Europe and the U.K.

Shortly before the coronavirus outbreak, Green Day released their thirteenth album ‘Father Of All Motherfuckers’ on February 7, 2020. So, they didn’t have much chance to promote their newest album through live events. The band’s lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong stated that he had written six songs intending to record after the pandemic.

Moreover, the band’s side project The Network which they were trying to hide their true identities using masks and nicknames released their second album ‘Money Money 2020 Part II: We Told Ya So!’ on December 4, 2020, after 18 years.

Then, Green Day released their new single ‘Here Comes The Shock’ on February 21, 2021. As the promotion of their newest album and singles, Green Day rescheduled Hella Mega Tour for this year which was planned to start in March 2020.

The band announced that Hella Mega Tour’s U.K. and Europe concerts with Fall Out Boy and Weezer were postponed to 2022. But, they also gave the good news to Americans. Hella Mega Tour will start on July 14, ‘2021 in Seattle.

Europe + UK– this past year has been chaotic to say the very least, and while we hoped we’d be able to make the Hella Mega Tour a reality for you this summer, COVID had other plans. With that being said, your shows will now be happening in 2022. Your tickets are good for the new dates, so make sure to hold onto them!

And for all of you in the US, we’re still planning on coming to see you this summer!
