Green Day Announces A Surprise Warm Up Show But A Proof Of Vaccination Will Be Required
Green Day recently posted the poster of their upcoming show to share some details about it on the band’s official Instagram account. The band stated that they will perform a show in Oklahoma before their Hella Mega Tour and people must be vaccinated to be able to attend Green Day’s warm-up show.
As you may remember, Green Day released their latest and thirteenth studio album entitled ‘Father of All Motherfuckers’ on February 7, 2020. Later, the band released a single ‘Here Comes the Shock’ on February 21, 2021, while their fans were waiting to hear a new announcement about another album. ‘Here Comes the Shock’ was followed by a new single ‘Pollyanna’ which dropped on May 17, 2021.
However, Green Day hadn’t had a chance to promote their latest album and singles through live events and tours due to the global pandemic. The longtime waiting ended when the band announced that they will embark on the Hella Mega Tour in 2021 for the US and in 2022 for Europe. The tour will begin on July 24, 2021, in Dallas and finish on September 6, 2021, in Seattle.
In their recent Instagram post, Green Day announced that they will perform an indoor concert on July 20, 2021, in Oklahoma and that the tickets have already been sold out. This will be a warm-up show for the band before they start Hella Mega Tour alongside Fall Out Boy and Weezer. In their announcement, Green Day noted that attendees must show their proof of vaccination in order to watch the show so as to prevent the spread of Covid-19 at this indoor event, and highlighted the presence of the Delta variant.
Greed Day’s Instagram post read:
“Update: the show is now sold out.
It’s going down in Tulsa tomorrow night. We’re doing a surprise warm-up show at Cain’s Ballroom!! Tickets are on sale now.
Note: Due to the recent spike in the Delta variant, and because it’s indoors, we’ve been asked to do this as a fully vaccinated show. ID & proof of vaccination will be required for entry for all attendees. No exceptions.“
