Pattie Boyd, ex-wife of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton, has spoken out about the upcoming four-part Beatles biopics. She expressed frustration over being left out of the production process. Her remarks were shared on the Miss O’Dell: Abbey Road to Tulsa Time Podcast.

Boyd will be portrayed by actress Aimee Lou Wood in the films. She revealed that no one from the production had ever reached out to her — despite her being a central figure in the real-life story the biopics aim to tell.

“I thought it would be polite to mention it to me, or let me know if they’ve got someone who is going to be playing me,” Boyd said. “Wouldn’t they let me know?”

Boyd went on to express disappointment at the missed opportunity for authentic storytelling.

“I could’ve told them really great stories,” she continued. “But I don’t think they wanted to know. I think they want to create something that’s completely different…a different story.”

She also reflected on what she sees as a broader lack of consideration from those involved.

“People don’t have manners anymore,” Boyd said. “People don’t care, and if somebody doesn’t care, you can’t do anything about it.”

Boyd’s frustration carries weight given how deeply her life is woven into the Beatles story. Her relationship with Harrison and later Clapton spans one of the most documented and musically significant periods in rock history. Her absence from the production process raises questions about how faithfully the films will portray the people closest to the band.

The biopics are a major Sony project directed by Sam Mendes. They are structured as four connected films, each focusing on one Beatle. A theatrical release is currently expected in 2027. Boyd will be played by actress Aimee Lou Wood across the films, making the lack of contact with the real-life subject all the more notable.

Boyd was married to George Harrison from 1966 to 1977. Her presence in his life shaped some of his most celebrated music. She is widely credited as the inspiration behind Harrison’s 1970 song Something, one of the most covered songs in Beatles history. Her influence extended into the All Things Must Pass era, as noted by Wikipedia.

The relationship was not without turbulence. As Far Out Magazine reported, Harrison wrote a song in 1974 specifically to break up with Boyd. It reflected the strain that had built up between them during the later years of their marriage. That personal history — full of creative inspiration, heartbreak, and complexity — is precisely the kind of material Boyd says she could have offered the filmmakers.

That the production chose not to consult her suggests the biopics may take significant creative liberties with the personal lives of those around the Beatles. For Boyd, who lived through those years firsthand, the silence from the production is not just a matter of courtesy. It is a signal that her version of the story may never be told.
