Gene Simmons Shares The Obstacle To His Presidential Candidacy

KISS icon Gene Simmons recently posted a tweet addressing the possibility of being a candidate for the presidency and revealed the only obstacle preventing him.

2024 United States presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Joe Biden, the incumbent president, has stated that he intends to run for re-election for a second term, while Donald Trump revealed he plans to run for president as well.

Article Two of the US Constitution states that an individual must be a natural-born citizen of the US, be at least 35 years old, and have been a US resident for at least 14 years to be a candidate. So, if a person doesn’t meet these conditions, they cannot run for president.

In a recent tweet, Gene Simmons shared a picture of one of his fans who holds a banner with his photo on it. As seen on the banner, the fan wants Gene Simmons to be a candidate for the 2024 US presidential election. However, the rules have to be changed to allow Simmons to run for president.

Simmons stated in his tweet that he wasn’t blessed enough to be born in the United States. The rocker defined the country as ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave,’ quoting from a Thomas Bergersen song. Simmons is an Israeli-American musician who was born at Rambam Hospital in Israel. Moreover, he immigrated to the US with his mother at eight, so he doesn’t meet the conditions.

Gene Simmons’ tweet read:

“Hmm. Food for thought. Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed to be born in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
