Gary Holt Says Tom Hunting Isn’t A ‘Rich Rock Dude’ And Asks Exodus Fans’ Support For His Cancer Treatment
Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt took his official Instagram account to share a new post and called out his followers for an important cause.
About a week ago, Gary announced that Exodus will delay the release of their upcoming album, Persona Non Grata, because their drummer Tom Hunting diagnosed with cancer and started his treatment.
After announcing this devastating news, Gary wanted to call out his followers to help to raise funds for Tom Hunting’s treatment and said that his bills are stacking up due to his treatment.
While Gary was mentioning that Tom is not a rich person as the other musicians just because they released albums, he also pointed out that we need to help him out during these tough times.
Here is what Gary Holt said:
“Hey everyone! Link in my profile! Go to the link tree and click on the go fund me!! I’ve started a gofund me page for Tom Hunting, who as you may well know, is currently in the beginning phase of his battle against cancer, and you can imagine how the bills are going to stack up, co-pays as well as home.
Some people will think ‘oh rock dudes with albums, must be rich’ and shit, but Tom, like many others, worked during this pandemic and global shut down of the music industry. Some shill merch and memorabilia (yours truly) while Tom, with a lifetime of experience working with his hands, is a builder.”
“He does construction work on the side. He can’t now and so let’s help keep him above water during this fight! I dropped a grand to get started( well, someone named Chris was first!
Thanks, Chris for giving before it was even posted! (You rule!) If you can help out, as well as share the link, that would be greatly appreciated! Much love from Tom and the Exodus camp.”
