Garbage has canceled their remaining 2024 shows due to an injury frontwoman Shirley Manson suffered.

In an Instagram post on August 2, Manson announced that the injury would need surgery and rehab and that canceling the shows was a tough decision.

“This is not a decision that we have taken lightly and we apologize to our amazing fans and supportive promoters. We look forward to playing for you all again in 2025.”

The band also clarified that they were ‘crushed’ by the decision in the caption of the post:

“No one is more crushed about this than I am. You know I would push through if I could.”

Fans Are Worried About Manson

Fans shared their worries about the singer. Most said she shouldn’t be worrying about the canceled shows and focus on her health instead:

“Oh my goodness. Shirley, the most important thing is your health. Please rest and get well. We all love you dearly.”

Another wrote:

“Omg. I hope it’s nothing serious so she can get well soon…”

Another user recalled her earlier accident and added:

“I hope Shirley didn’t reinjure that hip. Be well everyone!”

This isn’t the first time Manson has been injured on tour. In 2016, she fell off the stage during a show in Los Angeles and had to have hip replacement surgery last year to fix it.
