Foo Fighters’ latest track “Your Favorite Toy” has sparked discussion among Oasis fans who believe the song bears a striking resemblance to Oasis’ “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down.” The comparisons emerged in discussions on Reddit, where fans shared their observations about the musical similarities.

Several Oasis fans took to the platform to express their thoughts on the perceived resemblance between the two tracks.

“New Foo Fighters song, ‘Your Favorite Toy,’ sounds like they’re covering ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’ (Noel’s version),” an Oasis fan wrote on Reddit.

The sentiment was echoed by other fans who had similar reactions to hearing the song.

“I thought this when I heard it on the radio yesterday,” another Oasis fan commented.

Some fans noted that this isn’t the first time they’ve detected similarities between Foo Fighters’ recent work and other artists’ material.

“Their last song sounds like Tool too so I guess they are intentionally or unintentionally borrowing from a few bands,” another Oasis fan said. “Does make a change for someone to borrow from Noel for a change.”

The discussion highlights how fans continue to draw connections between contemporary releases and classic tracks from influential bands.

The Oasis track at the center of these comparisons holds significant historical importance within the band’s catalog. It represents a unique chapter in their discography.

Last.fm reported that “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” is Oasis’s 26th single and was released as a digital download only in October 2007. Dave Sardy and Noel Gallagher produced the track. This marked it as one of just two Oasis singles to receive a digital-only release format during the band’s career.

OasisInet noted that the single was officially released on October 21st, 2007. It was accompanied by B-sides featuring live versions of “The Meaning of Soul” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” The track’s release strategy reflected the music industry’s shift toward digital distribution during the late 2000s.

Beyond its musical significance, “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” also inspired a feature-length documentary of the same name. Glide Magazine revealed that Baillie Walsh directed the documentary. It captured Oasis’s 2005 tour, including footage from their performance at Manchester Stadium on July 2nd, 2005.

The documentary featured sixteen classic tracks shot in HD with both stereo and surround sound options. This provided fans with an immersive concert experience. This multimedia approach demonstrated how the song served as more than just a single release. It became the centerpiece for a comprehensive artistic project that documented one of Oasis’s most significant live performances.
