In a new episode of the Paltrocast show, Darren Paltrowitz recently brought up the significant Greek influence in the heavy metal scene with Gus G.
Referring to the rockers who are of Greek descent like the ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, Tommy Lee, and Phil X, the interviewer pointed out that ‘Greeks rule heavy metal.’ G agreed, saying:
“You’re right, yeah. Because people always ask me like, ‘Are there any metal bands from Greece?’ And then, if you think about it, there’s a lot of famous rockers that will have Greek heritage at least.”
The Guitarist’s Run In The Music Scene As A Greek Artist

Gus G, who was born in Greece into a musical family, was influenced by bands like Pink Floyd, Santana, and the Eagles from a young age. This early exposure to music led him to form his own power metal band, Firewind, in the late ’90s.
Now, the band is getting ready for a new tour in the US in Spring 2024. The release of Firewind’s latest album, ‘Stand United,’ will be followed by a trek starting in Clifton, New Jersey, on April 4, with Edge of Paradise and Immortal Guardian as the opening acts.
His Brand New Album And Tour

Gus G expressed his thoughts on the upcoming tour as follows:
“We’re proud and excited to bring our new album ‘Stand United’ world tour to America!”
He also mentioned the band’s previous US trek and added:
“In 2022 we made our comeback tour after a nine-year absence from American shores. We vowed to return as soon as possible. With a new album release ahead of us, we’re gonna do a full headline set for our American fans which will feature new songs and a best of setlist from our whole catalogue that’s been long overdue!”
The first singles from ‘Stand United’ have been released through AFM Records. The full album will be available in multiple formats, including CD, LP vinyl, digital, and special bundles, including an autographed card, a Firewind cat patch, and a ticket to the band’s European tour with Masterplan.
