Eric Bass recently discussed the challenging mixing process for Shinedown’s new music with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio.

“It’s maddening, man. It’ll make you feel like a fraud sometimes,” Bass explained. “You think you have it dialed in, and then you realize you don’t have it as dialed in as you think you do.”

“Sometimes it is maddening, and sometimes it causes you to question yourself,” he continued. “But, man, when you land on something great, it’s a lot of fun.”

Shinedown continues to work on their upcoming releases. New music is expected before the end of the year.

A profile in Premier Guitar revealed Bass’s evolution from band bassist to primary producer. He has helmed multiple successful albums, including “Planet Zero” and “Attention Attention.”

Shinedown has made notable progress in 2024. Blabbermouth documented the release of two new tracks: “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance.” These releases mark the start of their latest musical chapter.

Bass’s role as both performer and producer has shaped Shinedown’s sound. His hands-on approach to mixing recent releases demonstrates this influence.

His comprehensive involvement spans both creative and technical aspects. This dual focus has preserved the band’s signature sound while enabling exploration of new musical directions.
