Dee Snider Explains What Inspired KISS For Their ‘Plaster Caster’ Song
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing what KISS song ‘Plaster Caster’ really inspired from after a fan allegedly stated that the track is about KISS members making their own dildos.
‘Plaster Caster’ is a song from KISS’ sixth studio album, ‘Love Gun’ which was released on June 30, 1977. While many songs from that album such as ‘Shock Me,’ and ‘Love Gun’ were quite successful, ‘Plaster Caster’ took every fan’s attention since it has a completely interesting background.
As many of you know, there was an iconic rock groupie that included a one-of-a-kind ritual, that is to make casts out of rock stars’ penises. This brilliant idea started when its creator, Cynthia Albritton was in college and her art teacher gave the class an assignment to ‘plaster cast something solid that could retain its shape.’ Albritton instantly came up with the idea of casting the temporarily-solid penises which would then soften and exit the mold.
Cynthia Albritton’s first celebrity client was Jimi Hendrix, and when your first cast happens to be one of the most legendary guitarists in the world, it encourages many to submit to the idea too. Soon, Albritton started to create casts from musicians to filmmakers, and she ultimately created more than 70 casts.
Recently, a fan shared a post on Twitter stating that KISS’ ‘Plaster Caster’ is supposedly about the band members making their own dildos after Dee Snider shared a tweet asking his fans to revealed a fun fact about a song and its meaning.
Here is what Dee said:
“TOPIC: ‘I didn’t know that [your song here and artist] was about [your subject here]!’
Example: ‘I didn’t know ‘You Got Nothin’ to Lose’ by Kiss was about anal sex!'”
Here is what the fan said:
“I didn’t know plaster caster by kiss was about them making their own dildos“
After seeing his fan’s statement, Dee Snider shared a post on his official Twitter page making it clear that the track is all about Cynthia Plaster Caster which was only about making casts of famous rock stars’ penises. Despite the fact that KISS made a song about the whole incident, none of the members were ‘casted’ by Cynthia Plaster Caster.
Here is what Snider said:
“No. The Plaster Casters were groupies who used to make casts of rockstars’ penises. And before you ask…no they don’t have mine, but I hear they’ve got an amazing collection of dicks!”
