David Lee Roth recently discussed his upcoming comeback shows. He revealed his plans for an eclectic tour that will begin on June 20, as reported by Spin Magazine.
The Van Halen frontman shared his enthusiasm for performing diverse shows. He explained his unique approach to entertainment.
“We’re gonna be at theaters and drive-ins near you. play every kind of possible show now. I played a truckers convention. It’s about 2,500 people there. Not a lot of neck ties, but the Van Halen songbook is exultant. It’s like singing ‘Amazing Grace’ at twice the speed,” Roth said.
The rock icon also elaborated on his philosophy. He described what he brings to his performances.
“What I bring is a state of mind and attitude. I’m a verb. If you Roth your hotel room… If I ask you, ‘What are you reading?’—do you have an answer? Most of my rhythm section doesn’t,” he continued.
The upcoming shows will feature Van Halen hits alongside Roth’s solo favorites. This marks his return to regular touring.
