David Crosby Blames The Organization Company For The Astroworld Tragedy

CSNY icon David Crosby shared a tweet to draw attention to the dangers of performing concerts during the global pandemic. After a fan emphasized Live Nation’s precautions, Crosby reminded the user that many people passed away because of the Astroworld Festival’s organization company.

Astroworld Festival, the music event founded by rapper Travis Scott, started on November 5, 2021, at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. It drew great attention with its line-ups, including Lil Baby, SZA, and Drake. Unfortunately, the festival turned into a disaster while Scott was performing, ten people died, and hundreds of people got injured because of a crowd crush.

Both Travis Scott and the festival’s organization company Live Nation Entertainment received a tremendous backlash, and many people claimed that they didn’t take enough precautions to protect the audience. David Crosby recently chimed in and said that the Astroworld attendees lost their lives because of the organizers, who he defined as negligent and stupid.

According to David Crosby, no one can count on the organization companies’ precautions against the virus while people are still dying due to a crush. It can be understood from Crosby’s statements that he still thinks that musicians shouldn’t perform live shows until the global pandemic ends. He said the ones that insist on touring are making a terrible mistake.

Crosby’s tweet read:

“Believe me, I want to play so badly I can taste it, but I think the people going out now are making a bad mistake. These gigantic, indoor, maskless, jammed-together, face-to-face shows are dangerous. Yes, folks are desperate for money, but these are spreader events.”

Here’s what a fan wrote:

“Live Nation shows you have to show proof of vaccination and be masked. Just saw 3 shows of Todd Rundgren in LA at the Belasco. They were strict about it.”

Crosby responded:

“Live nation just let a whole group of people die at a concert through sheer stupidity and negligence so…”
