Daughtry frontman Chris Daughtry recently discussed the challenges of potentially swapping setlists with tour mates. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Music Interview Corner.

The conversation arose when Daughtry was asked about hypothetically switching setlists with either Alter Bridge or Sevendust for one night. The question focused on which band member would struggle most with the change.

When asked “If you would swap the set lists for one night with Alter Bridge or Sevendust, who of you guys would panic first? Like you would have to play the set of one of the other bands?”, Daughtry was candid about his concerns.

“I would panic if I had to play Alter Bridge’s set because Myles [Kennedy] that dude’s voice is ridiculous and I would hate to have to hit any of those notes,” Daughtry said. “So I would definitely panic.”

The frontman acknowledged the vocal prowess of Alter Bridge’s lead singer. He recognized the difficulty it would present for his own performance style.

“I feel like if it was the other way around, they’d have a much easier time doing our set than us doing theirs,” he continued. “I don’t know if that would be good for anybody.”

Daughtry’s concerns about tackling Alter Bridge’s material become more understandable when considering the current tour context. The demanding nature of the bands’ respective setlists also adds to this understanding.

The three bands are currently performing together on the “What Lies Within Tour.” The tour has been making its way across Europe in early 2026. Tuonela Magazine reported that the tour included shows in Helsinki on January 22 and Amsterdam on February 22, showcasing each band’s distinct musical approach.

Alter Bridge’s recent setlists demonstrate why Daughtry might feel intimidated by Kennedy’s vocal range. Setlist.fm documented that their performances feature demanding tracks like “Cry of Achilles” and “Metalingus.” These songs showcase Kennedy’s impressive high-range vocals and technical prowess.

In contrast, Daughtry’s live sets include more accessible staples like “Home” (acoustic) and “Heavy Is the Crown.” Sevendust opens with songs such as “Black” and “Denial.” Setlist.fm noted that Sevendust’s setlist also includes tracks like “Enemy,” “Praise,” and “Crucified,” representing their signature heavy sound.

The tour arrangement allows fans to experience three distinct approaches to rock music in one evening. Each band brings their unique vocal and instrumental challenges. The Alter Bridge Nation indicated that the “What Lies Within Tour” represents a significant collaboration between these established rock acts, giving audiences a comprehensive rock experience.

The comment highlights the respect Daughtry has for his tour mates’ musical abilities while touring together with Sevendust and Alter Bridge.
