For many bands that have just stepped onto the stage, being the opening act of the bands they grew up listening to is a dream come true. On top of that, getting the approval of one of the members of that band would probably be a mind-blowing experience. The members of the Måneskin experienced this. The band, who recently played as the Rolling Stones’ opening act, revealed their conversation with Keith Richards during their interview with KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2022.
“It’s very hard, which is one we had so many amazing experiences,” Damiano David said when they were asked about the highlight of their years. “As you said, we opened for the Stones, and we did many, many things. We played at the most important festivals in the world. So the whole thing, the whole year that we lived, it’s very special and amazing.”
He continued by revealing some details about their conversation with Keith. David recalled, “It was one of the best interactions ever because he was like, ‘Okay, guys, I don’t know who you are, but somebody told me that you play guitar. So very good. Stick with it.’ And he disappeared.”
Måneskin has spent this year playing at the grandest festivals, releasing singles, and leaving their mark as one of the key figures in the revival of rock and roll. So it’s been a pretty busy year for them. On November 6, 2021, probably one of their biggest dreams came true: they opened for the Rolling Stones. The band members, who took the stage before veteran rockers at Allegiant Stadium in LA, described this moment as ‘best memory of all time.’
The Stones spent the past year running from concert to concert for their ‘No Filter’ tour. The veterans, who never lost their energy, hit the road in 2017 and wrapped the tour up in Hollywood on November 23, 2021. Måneskin opened one of their biggest gigs, with more than 40,000 attendees. Nowadays, the young rockers are waiting to drop their upcoming efforts. ‘RUSH,’ scheduled for 2023, will meet the audience before the end of January.
