Courtney Love recently called out U2 and Bono for ‘selling out’ their ‘tribe’ by making a profitable management move and letting down their community via recent series of tweets.

Love hasn’t been an avid social media user for the most part, but in these last few days, she’s been using Twitter to address whatever she feels ‘unrighteous’ and ‘problematic‘ while sharing her beliefs; and her most recent Twitter rant came after she criticized some of the business moguls of the industry, from Irving Azoff to David Geffen.

She had also been vocal about fighting back against ‘problematic’ business executives, as Hole frontwoman defended Britney Spears in the ‘Free Britney’ campaign against her business manager, Lou Taylor, who reportedly considered Azoff, a mentor. So, while criticizing all these business moguls and how they would do anything for money, Love turned the crosshairs to U2 and Bono.

She discussed how U2, a pioneer when it came to standing up against injustices and always siding on the right side of history, recently gave up all they’ve fought for and signed into Azoff’s ‘Full Stop Management’ while giving in to the mogul’s business and scoring themselves large bonus checks.

The rocker viewed U2’s signing as selling out their ‘tribe,’ the rock community they’d been with for years, as the Irish rockers always fought back against any injustices that might take place by label records against artists. However, Courtney believed the band and frontman, Bono, were no longer on the right side, at least not since they started working for Azoff’s management.

Love’s tweet’s stated:

Now that U2 has gone to Irving Azoff ‘s Front Line Management. Even the most apolitical rock and roll, post-punk of us in the biz have lost our shit. Apoplectic, crying, etc. How could you? They [U2] represent our entire tribe.

One thing when it’s crap pop/Kardashian/super church money laundering by Lou Taylor. Quite another when the Cheiftan (Bono) of the whole tribe blesses that family. Hopeless.

Oops, U2, did I say the quiet part out loud? What’s new? It’ll end in tears, brother. I get 0 percent dollars. I get being 1st to see [Bono’s] face from space, but you know what they built on. How much is enough? I’m really asking Bono on f*cking ‘tweets.’ Think about it. It’s not ok, and you know it.”

Azoff is known to be a household name in the business, especially when it comes to handling tours and making major successes of them. So, the business move U2 took to join ‘Full Stop Management’ was surely nice for the band, but Courtney discussed how they couldn’t stand up for artists’ rights while working with, who she claimed, to be one of the most controversial names in the industry.
