Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor thrilled the fans by releasing a new Metallica cover, ‘Holier Than Thou.’

‘Holier Than Thou’ is the third track of Metallica’s self-titled album, also known as the ‘Black Album.’ The iconic band released the record back in 1991, and it became the band’s best-selling album. Since the release, Metallica’s setlist has always included some songs from that record. However, after 1995, Metallica no longer included ‘Holier Than Thou’ in their live performances until the 2000s.

This year, Metallica celebrated the 30th anniversary of ‘Black Album.’ To celebrate the album’s birthday, they released a unique box set that features never-seen-before pictures, CDs, and much more special material and a remastered version of this record.

Besides, the band also collaborated with many musicians to make a cover version of the ‘Black Album,’ named ‘Metallica Blacklist.’ So far, the bands such as Ghost, Weezer, and The Hu have covered some songs from the album.

Recently, Corey Taylor revealed that he also joined the ‘Metallica Blacklist’ with his cover of ‘Holier Than Thou.’ Moreover, the musician reminded the fans once again that all the profit from this song will go to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation and Tobie’s Small Dog Rescue.

After releasing the song, Corey Taylor stated that:

“All profits from this song go to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation and Tobie’s Small Dog Rescue.”
