Chad Smith Picks John Bonham As The Greatest Drummer Of All Time

Red Hot Chili Peppers members recently organized a Q&A session on their official Twitter account and answered some fans’ questions. The band’s drummer Chad Smith revealed in his reply to one of the questions that John Bonham is the greatest drummer of all time for him.

RHCP released their twelfth studio album, ‘Unlimited Love,’ on April 1, 2022, and now they are launching several live shows and events to promote the album. The first single off the album, ‘Black Summer,’ dropped on February 4, 2022, while the second one, ‘These Are the Ways,’ on March 31, 2022. The album also marks John Frusciante’s return to the band, contributing significantly to the band’s sound with his signature guitar playing.

The new album has generally been well-received and praised for its balanced structure. The band will support the record with the ‘2022 Global Stadium Tour,’ which will begin on June 4, in Seville, Spain, and end on September 25, in Louisville, Kentucky. The band members have been actively communicating with their fans and recently announced that they would have a Q&A session on Twitter on April 2.

The band’s lead singer Anthony Kiedis and the drummer Chad Smith answered some of the questions asked by their fans. A user wanted to know whether there was any artist who had a significant influence on the album. Smith replied by saying that he listened to Led Zeppelin a lot during the making process of the album. Then, he also stated that for him, John Bonham was the greatest drummer of all time.

The fan’s question is as follows:

“What artists/albums were you listening to while writing the album? Is there one in particular that has had a lot of influence?”

Chad Smith’s reply goes:

“Probably as far as rock music goes I would say, Led Zeppelin. With the greatest drummer who ever lived.”
