Brian May made a comeback in the studio thanks to ‘an old friend.’

“My dear old (sorry – YOUNG!) – pal, Talia Dean, gave me some motivation to get back in the studio — and here is her new release which I couldn’t resist doing some production work on,” the guitarist wrote on Instagram. “You might recognise the guitarist too – although he’s adding an unusually vintage sound to this track!”

He added, “I was probably channelling Duane Eddy – a hero of mine and latterly a friend – now sadly gone to the next place. Talia writes new songs at an amazing rate – always different – like we might put on a new suit of clothes – and this song is the last of an era.”

“This is a lot of fun – and very very catchy – but the next one may shock you,” the rocker revealed. “In a good way! Meanwhile — watch out for the video clip for this – it’s very amusing!!! And please preorder the track right now! Talia has mouths to feed !!! Bri.”

Talia also shared a video message with May from the studio on Instagram. “You made your bed ft some guy 8th November,” the singer wrote in the caption of her post.

May and Talia worked before, too. In 2021, Dean shared how a random meeting at an airport led to May helping her. “I bumped into him many moons ago at the airport and he’s just such a lovely man,” Talia told Express.co.uk.

The musician continued, “We stayed in contact because he knew I was a musician and I showed him one song and he really liked my sound and he thought I had something – I don’t know what that something was!”

“I think we’ll always work together. He and his team worked the vocals for this. I think he’ll always have an [influence] in something I’m doing,” Talia also explained. “He’s just always there, he is my mentor – I always call him my Mr Miyagi.”

While Talia is part of a band, Kings Daughters, she also continues her solo career. In March 2021, she recorded the title song for the film ‘Nemesis,’ which topped the iTunes soundtrack chart.
