Bob Dylan Responds To The Sexual Abuse Claims Of An Unbalanced Psychic

In August, Bob Dylan was sued for sexually assaulting a minor 56 years ago and began fighting a legal battle to prove his innocence. Most recently, his lawyers stated that the allegations are untrue and the plaintiff is just trying to rip off money.

Last August, Dylan was accused of ‘befriending and establishing an emotional connection’ with a 12-year-old J.C. and giving her drugs and alcohol while spending six weeks together. The plaintiff decided to sue Dylan a day before the New York Child Victim Act expired. The act allowed survivors to come forward to sue their violators no matter how long ago it happened.

Dylan’s lawyers strongly claimed the singer’s innocence and quickly presented facts and figures. According to them, Dylan wasn’t in the same city at the time J.C. claimed they spent time together. Moreover, they stated that the plaintiff is lying and she is not mentally stable.

Because Dylan’s party is going for a truth defense, the plaintiff’s words can be considered defamatory. The defense team claims that Dylan seemed like a weak link, and J.C. thought he would accept and pay her off. But they are fighting to prove his innocence and the plaintiff’s mental state.

Here is what the musician’s lawyers said:

“This case – based on plaintiff’s alleged interactions with Bob Dylan more than 56 years ago — is a brazen shakedown masquerading as a lawsuit. It was filed in bad faith for the improper purpose of extracting a huge payout on the threat of negative publicity. The allegation is false, malicious, reckless, and defamatory. Mr. Dylan will not be extorted.

Mr. Dylan may have seemed like an easy mark for the lawyers who filed and hoped to profit off of this fraudulent lawsuit. They likely assumed he would not be up for the fight and would instead pay extortion to avoid the burden, publicity, and expense of defending himself. They could not have been more wrong. Mr. Dylan seeks and will achieve justice, vindication, and full accountability.

According to her own website, the plaintiff is a psychic who specializes in ‘channeling’ the deceased loved ones of grieving families — for a fee. She speaks to cats, dogs, and other animals — alive and dead — as well as insects and plants.”

The plaintiff apparently claims that she has seen aliens before and has a website to perform spiritual rituals for money, which indicates a loss of sanity for Dylan’s lawyers. However, J.C’s lawyers are also sticking to their arguments and are not tolerating ‘bullying,’ especially for a spiritual belief that most people embrace.
