The album, called ‘High Noon,’ features final recordings from drummer Clem Burke and guest contributions from several musicians including Johnny Marr and Glen Matlock. The band released the lead single, ‘Spectral Eyes,’ alongside the announcement.

“The wait is over. ‘High Noon,’ the new album, arrives February 26. The first single, ‘Spectral Eyes,’ is out now,” the band said.

The announcement marks a new chapter for Blondie as they prepare to release ‘High Noon.’

‘High Noon’ is Blondie’s 12th studio album and their first collection of new music in nine years since 2017’s Pollinator. The band worked on the album in New York City starting in 2022 with producer John Congleton, who had previously worked on Pollinator. David Wrench assisted with production and mixing duties.

The album contains the final recordings from drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025 following a private battle with cancer. Burke joined Blondie as the band’s second drummer in 1975 and is considered an original member because his predecessor’s time in the band was brief. Blondie released their first single, “X-Offender,” in June 1976, and their debut album came out at the end of that year. The band achieved major success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with eight Top 40 hits, including four number one songs: “Heart of Glass,” “Call Me,” “The Tide Is High” and “Rapture,” which is regarded as the first number one hit to feature rap.

Johnny Marr had previously worked with Blondie on their track “My Monster” from Pollinator. Marr said that Debbie Harry sang his lyrics on that song and wanted another song from him, so he wrote “Spectral Eyes” specifically for Blondie. The band has once again teamed up with visual artist Rob Roth, who they have worked with since No Exit in 1999, for ‘High Noon’.

Glen Matlock, who appears on the album, has also toured as a member of Blondie. The album includes “Sleepwalking,” a song written by Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, and “Little Metal Drummer,” which was originally recorded by Blondie co-founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri for his debut solo album, Heart On A Wall, in 1981.
