After an exhibit created in his honor opened at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame on Friday, Billy Joel had an interview with People, where he talked about Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour.
The singer took the opportunity to see Swift on stage with his daughters, Della Rose and Remy Anne, in Tampa, Florida, in early 2023. Saying he ‘got very cool Dad points’ for taking his kids to the show to watch and meet the pop singer, he shared his thoughts about her as follows:
“Oh, she’s great. She’s really very good. We’re going to probably go see her again.”
Joel’s Posts From The Concert
When Joel and his wife, Alexis Roderick, attended the Eras Tour stop in Florida with their daughters, the ‘Uptown Girl’ singer posted photos and videos from the concert on his Instagram page.
One of the pictures showed Joel walking hand-in-hand with Della and Remy, while the clip at the end of the post captured the two girls dancing to ‘…Ready For It?’ The 74-year-old singer captioned these by writing:
“Rockin’ into our new ‘era.’ Thank you, Taylor Swift, we loved the show!”
The Singer’s Love For Taylor Swift
Hinting at being a Swiftie, Joel expressed his love for Taylor Swift’s music shortly after the April concert by comparing her to The Beatles in a chat with The New York Times. This statement echoed his previous comments in 2021 to USA Today, where he referred to the artist as The Beatles of her generation:
“Taylor is also a very talented girl, and she’s productive and keeps coming up with great concepts and songs, and she’s huge. You have to give her high marks. She knows music, and she knows how to write. She’s like that generation’s Beatles.”
