Billy Idol addressed his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination status on X (formerly Twitter).
“It’s been great all of you voting every day for me to enter the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame,” Idol said. “We are currently just behind Phish and Bad Company. So keep on voting!”
The statement emerges during the ongoing Fan Vote for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Idol competes against other notable nominees for induction.
The competition for this year’s induction has intensified. Several legendary acts vie for spots in the prestigious institution.
Data from 95.7 BEN FM revealed that Phish is leading the 2025 Rock Hall Fan Vote, with a big lead over Billy Idol. Fans can vote daily until April 21, and the top seven artists will be part of the Fans Ballot. Inductees will be announced in late April, and the ceremony will be held in Los Angeles this fall.
The voting process enables fans to cast one vote daily. They can support up to seven nominees, giving dedicated fan bases multiple opportunities to back their favorite artists.
News 5 Cleveland highlighted the Fan Vote’s milestone of exceeding one million total votes. This demonstrates the passionate engagement of rock music enthusiasts in this year’s selection process.
