USA Inquirer reported that Journey’s lead singer Arnel Pineda has addressed false rumors circulating on YouTube.
Pineda responded to videos claiming he received a life sentence in San Francisco. “Well, I’m somewhere nice and the sentence was in Sanfo… do the math,” he stated.
Producer Vic Perez, who has produced numerous US concerts with Pineda, spoke in defense of the singer. “I knew right away it was a hoax,” Perez said. “Paninira kay Arnel. It’s definitely not part of [Pineda’s] character. We need to fight fake news.”
The band has reached out to YouTube to request the removal of videos spreading these false claims.
The band’s support for their vocalist amid public scrutiny has been consistent over time.
Journey guitarist Neal Schon offered strong support for Pineda on social media, as documented by Ultimate Classic Rock. “Arnel don’t listen to these blogs. They are all bought. You’ve kicked a**!” Schon declared.
Journey has completed the spring leg of their U.S. tour. The band is now preparing for summer performances at major venues, including Fenway Park, Citi Field, and SoFi Stadium.
IMDB highlighted Journey’s continued momentum with their latest album ‘Freedom,’ released in 2022. The band has been actively working on new material.
Pineda had offered to step down following criticism of his Rock in Rio performance. The overwhelming support from fans and bandmates has solidified his position as Journey’s lead vocalist.
