Arch Enemy has officially announced Lauren Hart (ex-Once Human) as their new singer following Alissa White-Gluz’s departure last year. The news was shared alongside their latest single release on Instagram.

The Swedish melodic death metal band revealed their new vocalist—now their fourth overall—through an announcement that accompanied the release of their new single “To the Last Breath.” This ended months of speculation.

“‘To the Last Breath’ — Silence has been broken,” the band stated. “Our new single and official music video are out now. Watch it on our YouTube channel and stream the song everywhere.”

Founding guitarist Michael Amott expressed his enthusiasm about working with the new vocalist.

“Connecting with Lauren has marked an important step in my journey,” Amott said. “Working with her was an exceptional experience — her remarkable voice, coupled with her dedication and professionalism, brings a rare level of excellence. I look forward to continuing the collaboration.”

The announcement has generated positive reactions from the band’s fanbase. Supporters praised the choice of Hart as the new frontwoman.

“Lauren Hart… best decision ever!!!” one fan commented on the announcement.

Another fan highlighted Hart’s vocal style and its connection to the band’s earlier sound.

“I’m truly happy to see Lauren Hart on vocals for Arch Enemy,” they said. “I’ve really missed that old-school vibe — the rasped, torn vocal tone that brings back memories of the incredible era with Angela Gossow. That raw yet melodic aggression is such a defining part of true Swedish melodic death metal.”

This latest vocalist change marks another significant chapter in Arch Enemy’s evolution as one of Sweden’s most prominent extreme metal acts.

Metal Injection reported that Hart brings extensive experience from her previous work with Once Human. This positions her as a formidable addition to the Swedish extreme metal titans. The announcement comes after months of speculation about who would fill the vocal position following White-Gluz’s departure.

Louder Sound noted that Hart becomes Arch Enemy’s fourth vocalist in the band’s history. She follows in the footsteps of previous frontwoman Angela Gossow, whose era many fans still regard as definitive for the band’s sound. The transition also puts to rest various rumors that had circulated about potential replacements.

Recent speculation about Angela Gossow’s potential return was directly addressed by the former vocalist herself. “It’s not me! But thank you for all the love!” Gossow stated, as Louder Sound documented. This effectively debunked the rumors while showing appreciation for fan support.

The band has also announced plans for fans to experience Hart’s live performance capabilities. A European tour is scheduled that includes a show at London’s Underworld venue in August. This gives audiences their first opportunity to witness the new lineup in action.
