Anthrax has released the official music video for “Cursum Perficio,” the fourth single and title track from the band’s upcoming album. The new album marks the band’s first full-length release in a decade. It will arrive on September 18 via Megaforce in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast in Europe.
“The new music video for CURSUM PERFICIO is premiering at Rolling Stone,” Anthrax said. “Our first album in a decade is out at midnight.”
The release caps off a rollout that stretched across several months, with the band steadily building anticipation through prior singles and studio details ahead of the album’s arrival.
The record was cut with producer Jay Ruston. He also helmed Anthrax’s 2011 and 2016 albums, giving the band a familiar creative partner for its return. The classic lineup of Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna, and Jonathan Donais tracked the album together, marking a full-band effort a decade in the making.
“Cursum Perficio” wasn’t the first taste fans got of the new record. Anthrax previously released “It’s For The Kids” in May, followed by “The Edge of Perfection” in July and later “Everybody’s Got a Plan.” Each single arrived with its own music video, keeping momentum building toward the September 18 release.
The album’s title carries symbolic weight. “Cursum Perficio” translates from Latin to “my journey has come to an end,” a fitting phrase for a band marking its first full-length effort in ten years.
The full tracklist runs eleven songs deep, opening with “Persistence of Memory” and closing with “My Victory.” It includes cuts like “NYC93,” a nod to the band’s own history, alongside the title track itself.
