The guitarist explained the band’s strategy for the EP release. He emphasized their deliberate approach to timing.

“We have four new songs, and we have the intention, next year, to release an EP, just to celebrate this momentum,” he continued. “It’s original songs that we worked [out]. It’s already recorded and everything, and we’re taking our time, really, to see where it’s gonna be the good time to do it.”

This EP will mark the first recorded material featuring Nekrutman as Sepultura’s drummer. It represents a new chapter for the legendary metal band.

The addition of Nekrutman to Sepultura’s lineup brings a fresh perspective to the band’s sound. His diverse musical background combines with the group’s established metal foundation. His integration into the band has been closely watched by fans and critics alike. Drummer changes often mark significant transitions for established metal acts.

Drummer World reported that Nekrutman has already proven his skill live during Sepultura’s 2024 Latin American tour. He impressed fans with his energetic and precise performances on tracks like “Slave New World” and “Spit.” The 23-year-old drummer brings a unique blend of jazz and progressive rock drumming experience. This enhances his adaptability to Sepultura’s aggressive style.

Before joining Sepultura, Famous Birthdays noted that Nekrutman was recognized as one of the top-performing high school jazz musicians in the U.S. He gained acclaim for his virtuosic playing and versatility across genres, including his prior role with Suicidal Tendencies. His rapid ascent in the metal scene highlights his ability to fuse complex rhythms and bring fresh energy to established bands.

The upcoming EP represents more than just new material for Sepultura. It symbolizes the band’s commitment to evolution while maintaining their core identity. The Vault Music Arts documented that Nekrutman’s background spans multiple genres, from jazz fusion to progressive metal. This makes him an ideal fit for Sepultura’s experimental approach to heavy music.

These developments around the EP and Nekrutman’s integration reflect a significant evolution in Sepultura’s lineup. They prepare for the next phase of their storied career. The band’s decision to take their time with the release timing demonstrates their strategic approach to introducing fans to this new era of their music.
