Alicia Taylor Says She Refused To Date Corey Taylor At First

In a recent interview with Loudwire, Cherry BombsAlicia Taylor shared the story of how her now husband Corey Taylor asked her out and how they eventually started their relationship.

Alicia Taylor quit her days as an NFL cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons and founded the heavy metal dance troupe Cherry Bombs. The ex-cheerleader wanted to lead a dance troupe that combined fire, aerials, and storytelling a create an action-packed show that wowed people.

Cherry Bombs’ innovative show captured the attention of many, including Stone Sour, so the dance troupe accompanied Corey Taylor’s band on tour. The tour is where the couple got closer, and after their last show, they started dating. Alicia Taylor recalled the timeline of how she and Corey eventually went on the date that kickstarted their relationship during her recent chat.

She said that Corey had snubbed her backstage at one of the shows, so her first impression was not that positive. However, the pair crossed paths again at another show, and Corey was friendly to her this time. She even posted on Instagram that she had met Taylor again while noting he was nice this time.

When the tour rolled around, and Cherry Bombs were opening for Stone Sour, the two leads got closer, and Corey kept trying to take Alicia on a date. However, Alicia wanted to be professional and didn’t want to be in a relationship with a guy in a band. She watched him and wanted to get to know Corey before accepting his invitation. After the tour, they went on their first date, which marked the beginning of their relationship.

Alicia Taylor’s words about how she and Corey Taylor got together:

He snubbed me one day backstage, and I think the situation was a little odd at first, but I went to shake his hand, and I said, ‘Thank you so much; it was it’s so nice to meet you,’ and he looked at me and just turned around and walked away. I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ and then, and at the time, I was like, ‘Wow, Corey Taylor’s really weird,’ and moving on from that, I met him again on another show, right? I said hi to him again across, and then he was nice to me that time. I posted on Instagram and said I met Corey Taylor again; this time around, he was nice to me, and I showed him that. I give him hell for it all the time, so there’s just been a lot of little mini interactions over, you know, seven years.

By the time we toured together, he had asked me to go out on a date, and I had said no. I didn’t want to date a band guy, that’s what they all say, and I didn’t want to. I was, ‘Nope, not about it, don’t trust you, not into it,’ and you know I wanted to be professional, so he said, ‘Let me talk; just hear me out.’ I was like, fine, I’ll listen. I’m just going to collect data, and he was trying and trying and trying, and then eventually he said, ‘Listen, can I take you on a date after this tour.’ I said, ‘After the tour is over, after the last show we’re done working, you can take me on a date,‘ and then the rest is history.”
