Aerosmith will return to the stage for “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” a two-night event at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 29 and November 1, 2026. The shows will feature The Black Crowes, Run-DMC, Heart, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, Eric Church, Jerry Cantrell, Marcus King, Mike Inez, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Monahan, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Sully Erna, Tom Morello, and more.
Aerosmith said in a statement: “California, Dream On. AEROSMITH & FRIENDS, Two Nights Only at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets to these two historic nights go on sale Saturday, October 10 at 10 AM PDT.”
Hagar is among the guests confirmed for the event, and he commented on his involvement in the shows.
“It’s an honor to be invited to be part of this historical event,” Hagar said. “Montrose, my first band, started about the same era as Aerosmith and I’ve always felt close to them and their music.”
“Coming off the birthday bash, I’ll be frigging ready,” he continued. “This is gonna be fun!”
The announcement carries extra weight because of how Aerosmith’s touring career ended. The Hollywood Bowl dates mark the band’s first major shows since it retired from touring in 2024.
The “Peace Out” farewell tour was cut short in September 2023, after only three dates, when Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury. “A full recovery from his vocal injury was not possible,” the band said when it ended its touring days.
Tyler recently teased the comeback in a short video. In the clip, he climbs a ladder to change the Hollywood Bowl marquee to read “Aerosmith & Friends.”
The venue is one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the United States, with a capacity of about 17,500. That size makes it a high-profile setting for a comeback and gives the long guest list plenty of room.
The timing also works for Hagar, whose “Birthday Bash” shows at Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas fall on October 9, 11 and 13. October 13 is his actual 79th birthday, and those performances come a few weeks before he joins Aerosmith on stage.
