Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley announced the cancellation of his upcoming weekend performances due to health issues. The announcement came through a statement on Instagram.
Illness forced the guitarist to withdraw from two scheduled Midwest shows. He emphasized that his condition is not serious.
“Hello Everyone, I wanted to let you all know that I will sadly be unable to perform this weekend on Friday May 23 at Brat Fest in Madison, Wisconsin, or Saturday May 24 at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois,” Frehley stated.
“Although not serious, I am ill and don’t feel that I am capable of the rigorous travel or performing up to my usual standards this weekend,” he continued. “I extend my deepest regrets and most sincere apologies for having to cancel. I thank you all for your understanding in the matter.”
The shows were scheduled for May 23-24, 2025. No replacement dates have been announced.
This cancellation marks a rare interruption in the rock legend’s active touring schedule.
Rock news outlet Blabbermouth reported Frehley’s extensive touring activities throughout 2024 and into 2025. His “10,000 Volts” tour included numerous performances across the East Coast and Midwest. He also made a notable appearance at the Monsters Of Rock cruise in early March.
The cancelled Brat Fest performance was planned as a free show at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The event would have included VIP experience options for fans. The venue hosts an annual festival that combines live music with family-friendly activities.
The Arcada Theatre performance in Saint Charles, Illinois, was set to offer an intimate concert experience in the historic downtown venue. Frehley’s official website lists additional upcoming tour stops. These include appearances at The Harvester in Rocky Mount, VA, and the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA.
Frehley maintained a consistent touring schedule throughout 2024 and early 2025. No health issues affected his performances during this period. This weekend’s cancellation represents an unusual deviation from his recent touring history.
