3 Doors Down shared an emotional message on social media to honor their late bandmate Brad Arnold. The tribute came on what would have been his 48th birthday, following his death at 47 after a battle with cancer.

“Happy Birthday, Brad. We miss you more than words can say. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about you and everything we shared,” the band’s message read.
“Today, we’re remembering the laughs, the songs, the stories, the miles, and all the years we were lucky enough to have together,” the message continued.
“Today, we celebrate your incredible life, your music, and all the memories. Your voice, your heart, and your music live on in all of us,” the band added.
Arnold’s battle with cancer had unfolded in the public eye for months before his death. This gave fans and the music community time to prepare for the loss, even as it still came as a shock.
The singer had revealed in May 2025 that he was diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, an advanced form of kidney cancer that had spread to his lung. The diagnosis forced the band to cancel its planned summer tour as Arnold focused on treatment.
Arnold passed away on February 7, 2026, nine months after sharing his diagnosis with the public. The band confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife Jennifer and other loved ones.
Arnold was the founder, lead singer, and songwriter of 3 Doors Down. He was the creative force behind some of the band’s biggest hits, including “Kryptonite” and “Here Without You,” songs that helped define the group’s sound throughout the early 2000s and cemented its place in rock music history.
