Courtney LaPlante Addresses Sleep Token’s ‘Extreme’ Merch Prices

Courtney LaPlante shared her thoughts on Sleep Token’s high merch prices.

The Downbeat podcast host Craig Reynolds replied to the criticism against the band over the prices on X. He talked about the cost breakdown for producing a quilted jacket with various customization options. Reynolds argued that even though they might seem expensive, the band is not making an excessive profit. LaPlante left a comment under his tweets:

“What is GOING ONNNNNN”

Reynolds responded to her, writing:

“Hello fellow evil high-quality merchandiser.”

LaPlante added after him:

“It’s good to remember that we are only seeing extreme reactions. Most people just see the jacket in line and say ‘jacket..$200’ in their heads, and then just buy a shirt and never think of it again. But oh my GODDDDD shut the f*ck UP! Lol.”

Fans Found Sleep Token’s Merchandise Expensive

A user on X recently started a discussion when they shared a photo including Sleep Token merchandise items and wrote:

“I’m sorry TWO HUNDRED for the jacket is CRAZY.”

Many people reposted this tweet and spoke on the matter. While some defended the band, others were not happy with the prices. One person wrote:

“Y’all have never made merch for your band or the numbers that go into it and it shows. Hate Sleep Token all you want, but $200 for a think bomber jacket for a band of their size is standard.”

Another one said:

“Bad Omens sold a high-quality hand stitched bomber for $150. if the quality of this isn’t 7x BETTER than that it’s not worth the purchase.”

One other fan offered a solution:

“There are very simple solutions to this discourse: You don’t like the merch design? Don’t buy it. You consider the merch overpriced? Don’t buy it. All that outrage in the tweets below the original post is such a waste of energy? Like, c’mon.”

Some fans also criticized the ticket prices for Sleep Token’s live shows in their comments. The band didn’t say anything about the issue yet.
