Who Was The Key Person Behind Pink Floyd’s Endless River Album, The Band Gives The Answer

Pink Floyd shared a post on its official Instagram page revealing the person who played a crucial role behind one of the band’s greatest albums, ‘The Endless River,’ apparently, it was famous producer Phil Manzanera who happens to be celebrating his 70th birthday.

As many of you already know, ‘The Endless River’ was the fifteenth studio album of Pink Floyd which was released in November 2012. The album became a huge success right before its release by becoming the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon U.K.

Due to the fact that he previously worked with producer Phil Manzanera on his solo album, ‘On an Island,’ guitarist David Gilmour asked Manzanera to work on the band’s album. Thus, he, in addition to a few other people, worked on the album for more than a month in order to finesse it.

Recently, the official Instagram page of Pink Floyd shared a post celebrating Phil Manzanera’s 70th birthday in addition to revealing the fact that he was the key person behind Pink Floyd’s ‘The Endless River’ album along with Gilmour’s other projects.

In addition to this, the band shared a picture of David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera which was taken by Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson who is the person who always captures beautiful pictures of Gilmour in order to share them on her official Instagram page for the fans.

Here is what the band said:

“Many happy returns to Phil Manzanera, who celebrates his birthday today. Phil, of course, was a key person behind the Floyd’s The Endless River, as well as being a long-term collaborator with David Gilmour on various projects. Here’s Phil with David. [Pic: Polly Samson]”
