Travis Barker On How Kourtney Kardashian Convinced Him To Fly After Horrible Plane Crash

During a recent conversation with Nylon, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker detailed how he managed to get on a plane for the first time after he survived a plane crash back in 2008.
Since he was a kid, Travis has been afraid of planes, as he was scared to think he would die from a plane crash. In 2008, his worst fear almost came true. While the aircraft was about to take off, there was a loud sound of an explosion, and air traffic controllers saw sparks emanating from the plane afterward.
Even though the pilots tried to stop the plane, it went through airport fences through the highway. While the sounds were still going on, Travis Barker and his musician friend DJ AM managed to get out, and they were the only survivors of the accident. Since then, Travis hadn’t been on the plane until he met the woman of his life, Kourtney Kardashian.
Last month, Travis had his first flight with Kourtney, from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. While nobody was expecting to see Travis on a plane ever again, his partner somehow convinced him. According to Travis, he didn’t know what was going on until he jumped on the plane.
The drummer said he realized he would do anything for Kourtney after telling him about her wish to travel the world together. Before the trip, Travis told Kourtney that she needs to give him a 24 hours notice before the trip so that he can prepare by doing some breathwork to clear his mind. As Travis mentioned, this preparation made him feel much better on the flight day.
Travis Barker talked about using the airplanes for the first time after the crash in the interview:
“I didn’t even know I was going. I made a deal with her that she had just said to me, ‘I would love to do so much traveling with you. I want to go to Italy with you. I want to go to Cabo with you. I want to go to Paris with you. I want to go to Bora Bora with you.’
And I said, ‘Well, when the day comes you want to fly, I’m telling you I’ll do it with you. I would do anything with you. And just give me 24 hours’ notice.’ And that’s what she did.”
Additionally, Travis pointed out after the two-hour journey that it was the easiest flight ever and stated that he feels invincible when he is around Kourtney, which is one of the reasons why he accepted to go on a plane after the incident.
