The Truth About The ‘Strange’ Relationship Between Keith Richards And Johnny Depp
The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards opened up about his relationship with famous actor and musician Johnny Depp during an interview back when the two co-starred in the movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ as father and son and apparently, Richards found it strange to call Johnny his ‘son.’
As many of you might know, it was the iconic musician Keith Richards who inspired the famous image of Captain Jack Sparrow who was portrayed by the legendary actor Johnny Depp, in the first movie ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl’ which was released on June 28, 2003.
Furthermore, Keith Richards played a role as Edward Teague who is the father of Jack Sparrow in the third movie along with his co-star, Johnny Depp in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ which was released on May 19, 2007.
During an interview back when the movie was out, both Keith Richards and Johnny Depp opened up about playing the father and son in a movie and according to the Rolling Stones icon, he found it interesting to call Depp his ‘son’ since the two have a different relationship than a ‘father and son.’
In addition to this, Keith Richards revealed how he evolved into his character as Edward Teague once he looked at the mirror and saw himself with all the costumes that involved pistols, a sword, and a complete pirate look during the interview.
Here is what Richards said:
“To me interesting, because I play his father which I mean the only time I call him son is when I’ve got the whole rig on. Normally when I told him Johnny I don’t call it a son, it evolves as this sort of character just the look of it is and then you look at yourself in the mirror with all of this stuff on and a couple of pistols and they gave me a couple of pistols and a sword and I’m away.”
