Steven Van Zandt Says Maneskin Is Bringing Rock Music To Mainstream

Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt shared a picture with the Italian rock phenomenon Måneskin on his official Twitter page. In addition to this, the guitarist made a bold claim by saying they are the only band that is bringing rock music back to the mainstream all over the globe.
For those of you who may not know, Måneskin is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016 with a line-up consisting of lead vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. They rose to prominence after ranking second in the eleventh season of the Italian talent show X Factor in 2017.
The band also won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song, ‘Zitti e Buoni’ and since then, they have been releasing chart hits over and over again. The Italian rockers first dominated the music industry with their single, ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ from their second studio album, ‘Teatro d’ira Vol. I’ which was released on March 19, 2021
Their Four Seasons cover ‘Beggin’ which was originally released in 2017 hit number one on Spotify’s Weekly Top 200 Global Chart and has been streamed over 192 million times on Spotify. Måneskin is officially one of the most-listened-to artists in the world on Spotify.
Since they are considered to be the new face of rock music according to many, it was inevitable for Måneskin to gain recognition by rock legends such as Steven Van Zandt. It appears that the guitarist was in the audience when the band performed at the Bowery Ballroom on October 27, and he later shared a picture with the band members from backstage.
In addition to praising their energetic performance in the venue, the E Street Band icon joined those who believe Måneskin is bringing rock music back to life. According to his statement, they are the only band that’s currently putting rock into mainstream music back all around the world.
In his tweet, Van Zandt penned:
“With my Italian brothers and sister Måneskin who tore up the Bowery Ballroom last night. They are single-handedly bringing Rock back to the mainstream worldwide.”
