Slash Details His Relationship With Axl Rose When They Got Back Together

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash gave an interview to CNN in which he talked about his relationship with Axl Rose after his return to the band.

Back in 1996, Slash announced his departure from Guns N’ Roses. According to the musician, the reason for his decision to leave was creative and personal differences, Axl Rose’s reckless behavior, and Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin’s departure. After his career with GN’R, Slash worked on several projects such as Slash’s Snakepit and Velvet Revolver and pursued a solo career.

On December 29, 2015, it was rumored that Slash would rejoin GN’R, and the reunited lineup will headline 2016’s Coachella. GN’R was then officially announced as headliners at Coachella, and it turned out that Slash and McKagan were back in the band. Following that, GN’R embarked on their ‘Not In This Lifetime… Tour.’

In the interview with CNN, Slash talked about his return to Guns N’ Roses. He implied that everything that makes the band whole came together when he, Axl Rose, and McKagan got back together. Following that, the guitarist stated they had forgotten that feeling due to being apart for so many years.

Speaking to CNN, Slash talked about his return to GN’R as:

“When we got back together, that whole chemistry and that thing that makes what Guns N’ Roses are for me and Axl and Duff, it all just sort of came together. After that long a period of time, we’d sort of forgotten what that was like.”

As for now, Guns N’ Roses’ North American Stadium Tour got postponed due to the pandemic. Besides, they released two new singles in 2021 titled ‘Absurd’ and ‘Hardskool.’ Slash, on the other hand, continues to make solo musical efforts. The guitarist is planning to release his fourth studio album titled ‘4’ in 2022.
