Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea Comments On His Rare Picture With Kurt Cobain And Joe Perry
RHCP bassist Flea commented on his rare photo with the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Aerosmith’s founding member Joe Perry in his recent tweet.
As you know, Kurt Cobain was the iconic frontman of the grunge rock band Nirvana which was formed in 1987. Following a successful career with the band, Cobain tragically died by suicide in 1994. The rock icon was considered the voice of his generation, and he is still one of the most influential musicians in rock music history.
Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea is also a big fan of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. Back in the 1990s, he toured with Nirvana as a member of RHCP during their United States tour. Moreover, in 1993, Flea performed live with Nirvana, playing the trumpet. Showing his respect to the iconic band, Flea even claimed that Nirvana was better than any other band of that era.
In a recent tweet, Flea came across a picture of Kurt Cobain, Joe Perry, and himself on Twitter. The rare photo was taken at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards, and Flea appears to be wearing Cobain’s glasses. Answering a follower who posted the picture, he stated that he deeply loved and respected Kurt Cobain.
The follower’s tweet read:
“As if this picture isn’t cool enough, Flea is wearing Kurt’s shades. I miss these times. If we only knew what Circus Magazine would do to influence future shit programs such as TMZ, we probably would’ve just bought a newspaper.”
After seeing the picture, Flea said:
“I loved and respected Kurt profoundly.”
