Paul McCartney And Bruce Springsteen’s Unshakeable Confidence Is Explained By Jay Jay French

Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French recently opened up about fame during an interview. According to the musician, nearly nobody owns fame as it’s rented for a period of time except for people like Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney both of whom have unshakeable confidence due to this.

Since he first started his music career back in 1964, Bruce Springsteen released 20 studio albums majority of which gained huge success such as ‘Born to Run,’ ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town,’ ‘The River,‘ and many more. In addition to dominating the music industry with his records, Springsteen also shined through his energetic stage performances, lasting up to four hours in length occasionally.

The Boss also has admirable commercial success as he has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and more than 64 million albums in the United States, making him one of the world’s best-selling music artists.  As for his accolades, it’s quite impossible to list every single award Springsteen won since he has 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and so many more along with being inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

As for Paul McCartney, he has one of those music careers that cannot be told by listing his accomplishments as he didn’t only conquer the world with the legendary band, the Beatles, but also has been releasing successful solo albums over the past few decades such as ‘Ram,’ ‘McCartney,’ ‘Band on the Run,’ and so many more. One of the most praised aspects of his artistry is also his songwriting as McCartney has written or co-written 32 songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100.

During a recent interview, Jay Jay French mentioned Springsteen and McCartney when he reflected on fame. According to the guitarist, nobody can own fame since it is rented to musicians by the public. However, there are also a number of special people who actually own it such as Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, The Eagles, and last but not least, Bruce Springsteen. These musicians have a unique confidence that’s unshakable due to owning fame for many years unlike other artists whose popularity fade away.

French’s statement about fame follows:

“Hats off to all those who continue to follow their dream. You have to be in the right place at the right time, and you have to be prepared to step up when the right time is there. I just don’t begrudge anyone’s success, and I wish for the people who have success to understand the rules of success which is this: the public rents you fame, it doesn’t sell you fame.

You do not own fame, you rent it for a short period of time. There are so few artists who own fame, there’s McCartney, Madonna, Springsteen, Michael Jackson, The Eagles. They own it but for the most part, %99 of all people who make it big rent it.

The mistake they make is they think it’s owned so they spent their money stupidly and blow it instead of sitting back. I never ever thought that rent was owned. I always thought it was rented. I was always grateful for it, and I never altered my living style so when things went through their ups and downs, my lifestyle never changed.”
