Nikki Sixx Discusses New Mötley Crüe Album
Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx gave an interview to Yahoo Entertainment in which he talked about a possible new Crüe album.
As you know, Nikki Sixx wrote a new memoir titled ‘The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx,’ which was published on October 19. In the book, Sixx reflects on his childhood memories and how he became a metal icon. To promote the book, his band Sixx:A.M released an album titled ‘Hits’ on October 22. It features the band’s most successful songs and fan favorites. The band recently released a music video for the song ‘The First 21,’ which includes exclusive footage from Sixx’s childhood.
Apart from working with his band Sixx:A.M and writing a memoir, Sixx has also been focusing on a new project. In May, he formed a supergroup named L.A. Rats along with Rob Zombie, John 5, and Tommy Clufetos. They then released a debut track titled ‘I’ve Been Everywhere,’ and the song was featured in the Netflix film named ‘The Ice Road.’
Although Mötley Crüe is planning to go on a Stadium Tour with Def Leppard and Poison next year, they haven’t released any music material since the ‘Saints Of Los Angeles.’ Thus, the host, Lyndsey Parker, asked the bassist if they are planning to create a new album. Nikki Sixx answered by saying he’s currently tired and planning to take a break since he just released new music with Sixx:A.M and L.A. Rats and published a memoir.
Following that, Sixx said that Crüe might be talking about a possible new album at the beginning of next year. He claimed that they might knock out a couple of songs, but he just doesn’t have any plans in mind yet. However, the bassist revealed that he’s been writing some music for the band. According to Sixx, they also resemble the first Mötley Crüe album.
Nikki Sixx told Yahoo Entertainment that:
“I did the new Sixx:A.M songs. I did the L.A. Rats project, I don’t know if you ever heard that. You know, working on this book, and now it’s kind of like I’m gonna promote the book for the next four weeks. Then I’m gonna take a vacation because I’m tired all the time.
Then, we’ll get into the beginning of the year and kind of start talking about it. But then rehearsals start just a couple of months later. So, I think if there was going to be new music, I would assume it would be something around ‘We’re going to go do this next year, let’s see what 23 looks like.’
Do they still want us in South America, Australia, Japan? Maybe we’ll knock out a couple of songs. We just don’t know. I don’t know, I’m not that planned in the future. But I’ve been writing some interesting stuff that’s very like the first Mötley Crüe album.”
