Nikki Sixx Calls Tommy Lee An ‘Animal’ After His Performance With Broken Ribs

Nikki Sixx recently shared a post on his official Twitter account, reflecting on Tommy Lee playing with broken ribs on the opening night of their long-awaited tour. The bassist said his bandmate is a beast for playing even though his doctor told him not to.

Mötley Crüe was having an exciting countdown for their Stadium Tour. The band was updating their fans on their rehearsals and were over the moon for being onstage once again. They hadn’t played together in nine years, and reuniting was terrific for the band and their fans, who looked forward to the opening night.

The three years in the making Stadium Tour featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett has begun, and the excitement was over the top. However, during the first show, Tommy Lee announced that he had broken four ribs two weeks ago, and the doctor told him not to play drums.

The importance of the return was evident because that didn’t stop the drummer from playing on the opening night. Lee played the drums, announced what happened to him, and then let Black Sabbath drummer Tommy Clufetos replace him for the rest of the show.

Upon the news, Nikki Sixx tweeted about this, saying that he thinks Lee is a miracle for playing regardless and calling him an animal. Despite his health situation, the drummer will also play more songs each day, contrary to his doctors’ advice.

Here is what Sixx tweeted:

“The fact that Tommy was told by the doctor to not play with four broken ribs & he beasted half our show is a miracle. We are a band and are proud of his strength. He is doing the whole tour and, day by day, adding more songs. What a f*cking animal. Anybody out there ever break your ribs?”
