Mötley Crüe Confessions: Nikki Sixx Shares What Money Means For Them, Tommy Lee Explains How Tap Dancing Made Him A Decent Drummer

The official Instagram account of Mötley Crüe posted an old interview of the band members sharing some of their confessions, in which Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx have made some unusual statements about their career.

As you may know, one of the most influential bands of all time, Mötley Crüe founded by the bassist Nikki Sixx when he left his previous band and started jamming with Tommy Lee. They later hired the guitarist Mick Mars and the young vocalist Vince Neil which completed the lineup of Mötley Crüe.

Although they released hit songs one after another, particularly during the first years of the band, Mötley Crüe members became also popular with their hedonistic lifestyles and the controversial events they involved in which were full of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.

Recently, the official Instagram account of Mötley Crüe surfaced an old interview with the band members during which each of them shared their confessions under the title, ‘Crüe Confessions.’ According to the interview, the iconic drummer of the band, Tommy Lee, revealed that he took tap dancing lessons when he was a child. Lee stated that tap dancing actually helped his drumming since he learned rhythm and patterns. He also mentioned that he got to dance with girls thanks to tap dancing classes.

In another part of the interview, Nikki Sixx clarified what his source of motivation was while working on new Mötley Crüe records. Sixx stated that none of the band members were doing this for money since they don’t have to put out new albums for financial gain anymore. Yet, Nikki mentioned that he and his bandmates were doing this because they love it.

Here is how Tommy Lee explained the impact of tap dancing on his drumming:

“I took tap dancing when I was a kid, and it really helped my drumming. I learned rhythm and patterns. I dug it, and I got to dance with girls.”

Here’s what Nikki Sixx stated about what motivates him to work on new Mötley Crüe music:

“We don’t do this for the money. We don’t have to put out albums for money anymore. We do it because we love it.”
