Maynard James Keenan Reacts To A Fan Googling Him During A Tool Show

Tool singer Maynard James Keenan recently reacted to a fan’s tweet, mentioning a story during their latest show. The singer laughed at a fan googling him when he allowed the audience to use their phones, unlike other concerts.

Previously, Tool banned fans from using cell phones during the shows. According to Maynard James Keenan, phones cause the fans not to focus on the show besides annoying the other audiences and the performers. In an old conversation, Keenan stated that cell phones became a distraction for both the crowd and the Tool members during the shows.

As Maynard James Keenan has been very strict about this rule, 60 people were kicked out during A Perfect Circle Show in 2017 because they did not follow the no-phone policy. Although many fans criticized this decision, Keenan stood behind his opinions, indicating the rule was necessary for the fans to enjoy their shows.

Maynard James Keenan recently reacted by laughing on Twitter when a fan who joined Tool’s recent performance mentioned somebody who used a cell phone during the show. The fan stated that Keenan permitted them to use their mobile phone just for the last song in the performance.

While many would record the show since almost everybody uses their phones for this purpose, a fan preferred something else. They spent this time searching for Keenan’s name on Google even though he was standing right in front of them. Maynard James Keenan laughed and thanked the fan for sharing this magnificent moment with him.

A fan shared:

“Shout out to the lady in front of me at the Tool gig, who when permitted by Maynard James Keenan to use mobile phones for the last song only, chose to spend five minutes googling photos of Maynard. Lady, he’s 50 meters away from you in the flesh.”

Keenan responded:

“Hahahahahahahahahaha! Glorious. Thanks for that.”
