Matt Shadows Confirms Avenged Sevenfold’s New Album Will Be Released In 2022

During a conversation on That Space Zebra Show, Avenged Sevenfold’s Matt Shadows has revealed that the band’s new album will be ready before the summer of 2022.

Avenged Sevenfold has been working on a new album, five years after the release of their ‘The Stage’ in 2016. Back in February 2021, it was reported that the album was 70% complete, yet the band is known to have decided to wait until the pandemic conditions ease as it is more important for them to release new music while supporting it with a tour.

Speaking to That Space Zebra Show, Matt Shadows has recently revealed their plans on the new album’s release date while commenting on the music they were working on. He said that he thinks there is no way to describe the music, and explained it as a work of art they have worked on for a long time. Matt then said the band is booking shows for the next summer, and the record will be out before then.

Matt Shadows revealed during the show that:

“The reason we don’t say much about the music is because we find that every single word we say about it just gets spun off, and there’s no way to describe the music – it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s heavy, it’s fast…’ What are we gonna say about it? It’s a work of art that we’ve worked on for a long time, we had a bunch of personal things that we’ll explain later… But we’re booking shows for next summer, and the record will be out before then.”

Avenged Sevenfold’s upcoming record is known to be rather different than their last one ‘The Stage,’ thus being long-awaited by their excited fans. It seems the exact release date of the album will depend on the coronavirus restrictions though.
