Jon Bon Jovi Confirms His Recovery From Surgery Put Touring Plans In Danger

During an interview with Mix 104.1 Boston, Jon Bon Jovi confirmed that his touring plans might be in danger. In the interview, the rocker revealed his health would be the determining factor as to whether or not he could tour again. He said:

“I don’t know about a tour. It is my desire to do a tour next year, but I’m just still recovering from a major surgery.”

He then revealed the musical goal he has been working on since his vocal surgery:

“Although I’m well on the road to recovery and was able to take my time and do a song a day when I made the record, my need, want, desire is to be able to do two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end. And so I’m working towards that goal.”

Health Updates

In 2022, the rocker underwent surgery for his vocal cords. One of his vocal cords had shrunk to the size of a thumb while the other had become as thin as a pinky finger. This led to difficulties in singing as the stronger cord was overpowering the weaker one.

Earlier, Jon Bon Jovi provided a significant health update 19 months after undergoing surgery on his vocal cords. During an appearance on Hulu’s new documentary series ‘Thank You, Good Night,’ Jon stated:

“I take pride in being a genuine vocalist. I’ve had the privilege of singing with Pavarotti. I understand the art of singing. I’ve dedicated 40 years to mastering this craft. I’m not just a performer who shouts and screams. I know how to sing.”

Reflecting on his health challenges, Jon humorously mentioned while referring to the issues with his vocal cords:

“I’ve joked that the only thing I’ve ever put up my nose is my finger – so there’s no logical explanation for any of this.”

Following the surgery, the singer shared that he is still undergoing the healing process more than 19 months into his rehabilitation.

While it’s not clear whether or not he would be able to tour, Bon Jovi announced their album, ‘Forever.’ They shared the song ‘Legendary‘ as a teaser with their fans. The upcoming album will be released on June 7, 2024.
