Late Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s wife Janie Van Halen shared a picture with her husband on her official Instagram page celebrating Eddie’s 66th birthday and expressed her longing in addition to her love for her late husband Eddie Van Halen.
As many of you remember, Eddie Van Halen was diagnosed with tongue cancer back in 2000 and started receiving treatment for his disease. The following surgery removed almost a third of his tongue thus he was declared cancer-free two years after his diagnosis.
After many years, Van Halen was hospitalized in 2019 after battling throat cancer over the previous five years. Eddie, unfortunately, passed away due to a stroke on October 6, 2020, at the age of 65 nearby his wife Janie, son Wolfgang, ex-wife Valerie, and brother Alex.
His son Wolfgang Van Halen shared a post on his official Twitter page announcing the death news of his father with a farewell message to Eddie Van Halen by stating that he’ll never recover from the loss of his father in addition to praising Eddie due to the fact that he was the best father according to Wolfgang.
Here is what Wolfgang said:
“I can’t believe I’m having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.
He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I’ve shared with him on and off stage was a gift.
My heart is broken and I don’t think I’ll ever fully recover from this loss.
I love you so much, Pop.“
Nearly four months after the passing of him, Eddie Van Halen’s wife Janie Van Halen shared a post on her official Instagram page celebrating the 66th birthday of the legendary guitarist with an emotional message in which Janie expressed her love and longing for Eddie.

We love you and miss you so much.”
