Hayley Williams On The Hidden Meaning Of Paramore’s Taylor Swift Tour

Hayley Williams recently sat down with Uproxx for an interview and shared the inside story behind Paramore’s tour with Taylor Swift.

Paramore recently finished their big world tour. Next year, they are scheduled to open for Swift during her ‘Eras’ tour in the U.K. and Europe. Swift and Williams, who have been friends for a long time, rose to fame around the same time and continue to have successful careers. Hayley said the following about having long careers in music:

“I mean, we know how rare it is to last this long in the music industry. It’s amazing what she’s traversed through and not only managed to last but continue to get better as an artist, get bigger in her appeal.”

Longevity In Music And Paramore’s Anticipation For The ‘Eras’ Tour

Speaking of facing various challenges in the music industry, she continued:

“We’ve been in this for as long, and we’ve really survived a lot, whether that is self-inflicted shit or just the industry at large and the world at large.”

The singer then shared her thoughts about performing with Swift on the ‘Eras’ tour:

“To be able to play with an artist like her, for me, represents how long we’ve been at this and how much sh*t we’ve seen. Now, it’s time to have a fun summer.”

Swift’s Announcement Paramore As Supporting Act

Paramore first opened for Taylor in March 2023, at the beginning of the ‘Eras’ tour. Last year, Swift announced the supporting acts with the following words:

“The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the U.S., with international dates to be announced as soon as we can! Feeling like the luckiest person alive because I get to take these brilliant artists out on tour with me: Paramore, Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl In Red, MUNA, HAIM, Gracie Abrams, GAYLE, and OWENN. I can’t wait to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming.”

Williams then reacted to the news on Instagram, writing:

“So it’s called Tayley, and there’s a whole blog about us.”

Looking ahead, Paramore has completed their commitments to their record label and are now independent. The band members recently acknowledged some uncertainty about their future. However, they remain focused and optimistic.
