Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider recently shared a tweet and revealed his favorite singers that would surprise his fans. Later, he also compared Miley Cyrus to Janis Joplin.
More often than not, many artists who pursue a music career are associated with a specific genre. Yet, their musical tastes are generally broader than the genre they are categorized in. Thus, some of their favorite choices might surprise all of us. For instance, Dee Snider once revealed his guilty pleasure pop song on his official Twitter account and later responded to the fans’ reactions to it.
As it turns out, one of the rocker’s favorite pop songs is ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen.’ In the caption of his post, Snider demanded his fans not to judge him for his surprising choice. Then, a user directly asked him about his favorite artists that would astonish his fans. The user saw it as an exciting starting point to discuss other singers and gave Harry Styles as an example.
However, the names Dee Snider mentioned were different. The rocker revealed that Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus were the two contemporary singers he greatly admired. Then, another fan asked Snider whether Gaga or Cyrus would be able to tackle Janis Joplin. The frontman responded by saying that Miley would surpass Joplin with her musical abilities.
A user asked Dee Snider the following:
“Nice. I’m okay with the phrase guilty pleasures, but I guess we could ask this more directly, i.e., ‘What song/artist do you think is kickass that people might be surprised about?‘ It opens the door to a cool discussion. It’s Harry Styles, by the way. The kid’s got crazy frontman skills.”
The rocker responded by saying:
“Interestingly, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are really kickass.”
Then another fan said:
“I’d kind of like to hear either one of them tackle some Joplin. Think they would kill it.”
To which Snider answered:
“Miley Cyrus, for sure.”
